— The Dingman Township Supervisors meeting on March 4, one of the coldest nights of the year, was sparsely attended, with just a few housekeeping items that needed attention.

Fire department calls — Dingman Township Fire Chief Bill Mikulak gave said there were 33 fire calls in February, including seven small structure fires, residential and commercial fire alarms, 11 vehicle accidents, and the set up of two helicopter landing zones. On the busier EMS side, there were 58 incidents including unconscious persons, a suicide attempt, heart problems, chest pain, and breathing problems, as well as falls, strokes, and even an unattended death.

New fire truck — Mikulak said the final numbers are being worked out regarding the purchase of the new fire truck. “It should come in between $550,000 and $560,000. We just want to make sure it is exactly what we want and need.”

Lake Adventure — Lake Adventure, a private camping community on state Route 739, showed an intake of 267,925 gallons on Jan. 11 because there was a lot of rain and snow melt, according to Code Enforcement Officer Chris Wood. Discharge was kept to the state's limit of 150,000 gallons by using the community's irrigation system. The average vehicle flow was 2,142 gallons per day. “It is evident some of the old problems they have had are still causing such high numbers,” said Wood.

Park security — During the public comment period, someone asked whether the township is taking a look at security systems to protect the new township park on Log Tavern Road, which has been vandalized several times. Supervisor’s Chair Tom Mincer said supervisors are looking into various systems.

Fund transfer — The treasurer's report stated $22,965.55 from the general fund will be used to pay current bills, leaving a fund balance of $396,932.
