— A major crash closed a section of Route Interstate 84 East for hours early Friday morning, and the section will close again on Saturday to remove a tractor-trailer involved in the crash, according to the Pennsylvania State Police at Blooming Grove and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

There was no word as of 3:30 p.m. Friday on whether the crash resulted in any injuries. Police said they would issue a report on Saturday.

I-84 East will be closed after Exit 46 at Milford beginning 7 a.m. on Saturday, May 3, and lasting about three hours to facilitate removal of the truck. The state police suggested the alternate route of Exit 46 to Milford, to Route 6 East, to Route 209 North, re-entering I-84 at the Matamoras exit. Motorists took this detour after Friday morning's accident.

The accident happened at about 5:30 a.m. Friday, May 2, according to the police. The Matamoras Fire Company was among the emergency responders on the scene.

Both lanes of I-84 were closed Friday morning, with traffic detoured through Milford.
