— The fans took over every table and chair, leaving standing room only for the rest of the folks who turned out to the Waterwheel Café for a drink and a chance to hear The Bobby Kyle Band.

It was quite a crowd for a small venue in a small town, but everyone was enjoying the Waterwheel's 25th anniversary celebration. The applause after every number made it clear that everyone was having a marvelous time.

The band includes Kyle on lead guitar and vocals, Joel Perry on guitar, Everett Boyd on bass, and Mark Coppola on drums. Kyle and his band have performed at concerts, nightclubs, and festivals throughout the U.S., Canada, and Europe, and was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 2012.

Jackie Beckett, a 10-year fan of the Kyle Band, was there to celebrate with her friend Brooks Walsh.

Betsy and Art Buchanan came for dinner and to have a “bluesy time” for the evening.

Nancie Simonet and her husband, Darren Fouse, opened the Café in 1997 as a bar and dining room. Nancie praised Darren and their longtime staff for going the extra mile and keeping the Waterwheel open as she fought a life-threatening illness.

When Simonet and Fouse first got together, and before opening in Milford, they supplied fresh baked goods for some of New York's most famous hotels and restaurants. They have been recognized by some of the world’s leading newspapers and magazines.

The Waterwheel first opened as a bakery and self-service lunch café and has evolved into a full menu restaurant serving breakfast and lunch seven days per week with dinner on Thursdays through Saturdays as well as off premises catering.

The Waterwheel is located at The Upper Grill at 150 Water Street in Milford and may be reached by calling 570-296-2383. Check out their upcoming events and menu items at waterwheelcafe.com.
