Nelson Hill to perform with the DVHS jazz ensemble

The Delaware Valley Music Department will present the annual Spring Jazz Concert on the evening of Friday, May 30. The concert will begin at 7 p.m. in the Delaware Valley High School Auditorium, located at the Milford campus.

In addition to displaying the talents of the DVHS band students, this year’s concert will feature jazz saxophonist Nelson Hill as a special guest artist. Hill has enjoyed a fine career as both an educator and a performer. As a professional saxophonist and woodwind specialist, he has worked internationally as a freelance musician performing regularly in night-clubs, hotels and concert halls.

He has performed with the National Jazz Ensemble and toured for three years with Maynard Ferguson. During his time with Maynard, he recorded on the albums Storm and Hollywood. Hill has also performed with the likes of Tony Bennett, The Spinners, The Temptations, Wayne Newton, Jay Black, Frankie Valli and many others.
