River Road to close June 12

— River Road in Middle Smithfield Township will be closed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, June 12, for emergency culvert replacement.

Smithfield Beach will be accessible by vehicle from the south end of River Road. Access to the McDade Trail from trailheads along River Road will be limited while work is completed. Hikers and cyclists may access the trail at Hialeah Picnic Area, Smithfield Beach, or Park Headquarters during this time.

The announcement was made Tuesday by Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area Superintendent John J. Donahue.
