Unopposed in GOP, Corbett raises nearly $15M

HARRISBURG — Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett reports that he's raised nearly $15 million for his re-election bid, more than any of the four Democrats vying for the nomination to challenge him.

Campaign reports filed this month put Corbett's contributions at $14.6 million, including his 2012 carryover. Even after spending $2 million on TV ads in the last five weeks, he had more than $6 million left and faces no opposition in the May 20 primary.

Democratic front-runner Tom Wolf contributed $10 million to push his fundraising total to $14.5 million, the most among Democrats. But he spent more than $5 million on TV in recent weeks and had just $1.6 million left.

U.S. Rep. Allyson Schwartz reported spending $4 million on TV commercials in the last five weeks and had $1.3 million left.
