— The Pike County Democratic Committee at its May 22 meeting elected the following officers for the 2014-18 term:

Bruce Taylor, Palmyra Township, Chair

Marianne Vassallo, Lackawaxen Township (1) Vice Chair

Ronald Short, Lackawaxen (2), Secretary

Cheryl Glenn, Delaware Township (2), Treasurer

Jolie DeFeis, Westfall Township, was elected in the May primary as Democratic State Committee representative

The Committee has representatives from every section of the county as it works to recruit and support candidates for local, state, and national offices. It sponsors public debate and discussion on the important issues of the day through the press and at local venues. It also acts as a service organization to provide information and referrals for Pike County residents who need assistance. The Committee meets monthly at the Blooming Grove Firehouse. More information is on the Committee website: www.pikecountydemocrats.org.

The Committee invites to its June 26th meeting those wishing to serve in promoting Democratic principles and to learn about its ideas and activities.
