June 25 meeting set to discuss courthouse expansion
MILFORD — The Historic Preservation Trust of Pike County will hold a public workshop to discuss the plans the Pike County Commissioners have announced to tear down three buildings in Milford’s National Historic District and construct a large criminal justice/courts complex adjacent to the existing courthouse.
The workshop will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25, at the Pike County Public Library meeting room on East Harford Street in Milford. The public is encouraged to attend.
While there has been some discussion in the media and the community, there has been no public forum specifically to present plans, understand the need and assumptions that brought the Commissioners to the plan they chose, consider alternatives and answer questions from the public, says a press release from the Trust.
Edgar Brannon, the president of the organization, has sent letters inviting the Pike County Commissioners and Milford Borough Council members to participate in the workshop.
For more information call Brannon at 570-296-1157 or Bill Kiger at 570-296-6753.
