DV honors three who made a difference

Jennifer Ridley Case, Davis R. Chant, and Dianne M. Somers will be inducted into Delaware Valley High School Hall of Fame

— Three new members of the Delaware Valley High School Hall of Fame will be inducted this year: Jennifer Ridley Case, Davis R. Chant, and Dianne M. Somers.

The new members will be introduced at half-time when Delaware Valley plays its Homecoming football game on Saturday, Oct. 4. At 4 p.m. on following day, Oct. 5, they will be formally inducted at a banquet to be held the Riverview Inn in Matamoras.

Jennifer Ridley Case, a member of the Class of 1978, was a scholar-athlete who went on to secure both a bachelor and master’s degree from Bucknell University. She is a school psychologist for the Wake County Public Schools in North Carolina, where she is also active in her community and church.

Davis R. Chant from the Class of 1955 was a class leader and outstanding basketball player. He graduated from Belmont Abbey College in 1960 with a degree in real estate. For more than 50 years he has led Davis R. Chant Realtors and been an active leader in the profession on the local, state, and national levels. He is also known for his leadership and support of many community service organizations.

Dianne Proctor Somers was the valedictorian of the Class of 1973. She received her bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University and her master’s degree from Rider College. For more than 30 years she has served as coordinator of the international studies program at the Hun School in Princeton, N.J. She is also active in her community and church.

The Hall of Fame Committee invites the public to attend the induction. Tickets are available from Wanda Holtzer at the high school guidance office: 570-296-1864.
