— Information about concussion treatment and prevention will be offered at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16, at Access Physical Therapy and Wellness, 181 Jersey Ave., in Port Jervis.

The free presentation led by Dr. Nicholas Belasco will also offer general information about physical, occupational, and speech therapy.

Access Physical Therapy will also introduce its new athletic trainer for Port Jervis schools, Kathleen Schindler.

Dr. Belasco received his doctorate from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency at Overlook Hospital is Summit, N.J. He is a physician member of the Bon Secours Medical Group, is board certified in Family and Sports Medicine, and is a Certified Impact Consultant. He founded the Bon Secours Concussion Management Program.

Schindler graduated from East Carolina University with a bachelor’s in exercise sport science and sports medicine/athletic training. She has more than 20 years of experience working as an athletic trainer.

Light refreshments will be served at the presentation, and there will be various giveaways throughout the event.

“We enjoy hosting these events for the public,” said co-owner Steve Albanese, PT, DPT. “Events like this allow us to get to know our communities better, and helps them to get to know us without making a commitment to treatment.”
