David Garrison, MD, joins Middletown Community Health

Internist opened his Milford practice 20 years ago at the Hotel Fauchere

— David M. Garrison, MD, a doctor of internal medicine, is bringing his professional practice to Middletown Community Health Center's Milford office, located at 221 Broad St., this month.

Garrison started his private practice in 1996 at the Hotel Fauchere in Milford as a member of Newton Memorial Hospital. In 2000, he moved the practice to the newly constructed Milford Health and Wellness building.

"Through the years, Dr. Garrison has had the honor and pleasure to work with a loyal and dedicated staff, providing customized personal care to the surrounding community," said a statement announcing the move. "Dr. Garrison brings a wealth of medical experience and expertise, and a well-known commitment to individualized patient care. He tries to devote extra time and effort to listen to his patients and work with them to achieve the best medical outcome possible."

Garrison graduated as valedictorian from Clifton High School in Clifton, N.J. He received a bachelor of arts degree in mathematics, magna cum laude, from Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, Pa., ranking second out of a class of 485. He attended Boston University School of Medicine, then completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Overlook Hospital in Summit, N.J. His many honors and awards include Phi Beta Kappa and Kershner Scholar for Mathematics.

In related medical experience, he was Captain USAF, Internist, at Ellsworth Air Force Base Hospital, Ellsworth AFB, South Dakota, where he was Chief of Internal Medicine. Following this assignment, he was Captain USAF, Internist, McClellan Air Force Base Hospital, Mather AFB, California, where he was Chief of the Cardiopulmonary Department.

Middletown Community Health Center, a non-profit community-based organization, was founded in 1971. Services include internal medicine, OB/GYN, pediatrics, dental care, family practice, behavioral health services, podiatry, nutritional support services, social work, HIV, WIC (women, infants, children), and community outreach, including two mobile dental vans.
