Lola Rita Padilla of Shohola, Pa., dies at age 84

Lola Rita Padilla of Shohola, Pa., died on Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017, at Belle Reve Senior Living Center, Milford, Pa. She was 86.

Daughter of the late Max and Anne (Gruber) Schor, she was born on June 6, 1933, in Brooklyn. She graduated from Erasmus High School in Brooklyn. She was married to Manny Padilla for more than 25 years, which helped develop her great sense of humor.

She was a retired bookkeeper for Crazy Eddie’s, Brooklyn, and worked for several years at Positive Promotions, Flushing, N.Y., where she ran the company newsletter. Lola loved to write children’s stories, poetry, spoke several languages and took great joy in her grandchildren. She volunteered for The Pike County Historical Society at The Columns in Milford as a docent and was a proud member of The Milford Red Hat Society.

She is survived by her daughter, Elisabeth Klein; son-in-law, Jeff Klein; granddaughter, Shaina Klein; and grandson, Hunter Klein. all of Shohola.

Cremation will take place at MacLennan Hall Crematorium, Milford, at the convenience of the family. A memorial service is being planned for Nov. 26, from

1 to 4 p.m., at The Columns.
