— Benni, the service dog being trained by Chrisanne Cubby of Milford to someday assist a child with autism, used his celebrity to help the food pantry.

He donned his Santa suit and sat for a portrait with "Santa Paws" (aka John Moran) at Milford Pet Foods and Supply on Nov. 18 to help the Ecumenical Food Pantry of Pike County.

Santa Paws met with local best friends that day. Purchases of the framed photos benefitted the Ecumenical Food Pantry of Pike County.

Milford Pet Foods and Supply is located in the Old Lumberyard Shops on Seventh Street in Milford. Benni, weighing in at 65.2 pounds, exhibited his usual star quality as he posed.

Christina Kotar has owned Milford Pet Foods and Supply since April. She wants to help people in need. She knows hungry people can't feed hungry pets, so she helps both. Kotar has given 200 units of pet food to the food pantry, a dollar value of $700.

Benni, ever the star, charmed Kotar and received a biscuit from the stash she keeps on her countertop.
