Jorja Lynn Blauvelt of Shohola, Pa., dies at age 70

Jorja Lynn Blauvelt, 70, of Shohola, Pa., died on Friday, Dec. 8, 2017, at the Geisinger South Hospital, Wilkes Barre, Pa.

Daughter of Fred and Vivian (Sumner) McKean, she was born on Nov. 3, 1947, in Port Jervis, N.Y.

She operated an exercise studio, worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Urban’s office, and took pride in her work as a guitar instructor.

She was a member of the Saint Ann’s Church, Shohola, where she sang and played guitar for Mass.

She leaves behind her husband, David Arthur Blauvelt Jr.; daughters, Tami Ford and Tara Yetter and her husband, Eric; grandchildren, Daniel Ford, Aaron Ford, Fox Yetter, Ivy Yetter and Vivian Yetter; father, Fred McKean; brothers, Kim, and Everett McKean; sisters, Tauni Ruvolis and Cindee Miller; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 W. Harford St., Milford, Pa 18337 on Wednesday, Dec. 13, from 4 to 7 p.m.. Services will follow at the funeral home on Wednesday, Dec. 13, at 7 p.m., with The Rev. Thomas Major officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to the Pike County Humane Society, P.O. Box 255, Milford, PA 18337.
