— For several weeks, the seniors practiced singing their favorite holiday songs for a Dec. 22 concert for residents and family members.

Twin Cedars' activities director Elaine Stine coordinated this special event, which was standing room only. The living and dining room areas of the assisted living facility in Shohola were packed with visitors arriving to see their loved one perform.

Residents Gerard Selman and Floyd Nower both brought down the house with solos. Resident Michael Sepanak sang a duet with Elaine Stine as the guests and other residents cheered them on. Ms. Stine has been guiding and leading the seniors for this special concert for 15 years.

“It was very special to see all the family members come at this busy time of year to see their loved ones sing," said Stine.

Family members stayed to share eggnog and holiday cheer.

In addition to the holiday concert, Stine continues to make it her personal mission to ensure that the residents have a wonderful and joyous holiday season each year, and that each senior has several gifts to unwrap on Christmas morning. Many of the residents' gifts are collected through donations from local churches, as well as through their family members.

This Christmas morning Santa made his annual visit to Twin Cedar’s to deliver these gifts to the residents.

“I would like to personally thank the organizations who donated items to our seniors to make this Christmas special for them," said Twin Cedar’s Owner, Tamara Singer. "I would like to express gratitude and appreciation to the Salvation Army and People Helping People from St. Patrick’s Church in Milford. The residents were delighted with their generous gifts.”
