, N.J. — Hawks and Owls come to find refuge along the Wallkill River during the winter.

Come for an indoor talk featuring live raptors at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 30, at Wallkill River National Wildlife Refuge, 136 Owens Station Rd., Sussex, N.J.

Following the talk, refuge staff will lead the group to Liberty Marsh to look for the raptors hunting in the marsh. Rough-legged hawks, harriers, falcons, eagles, owls and more can be found here.

Friends of Wallkill River National Wildlife Refuge will offer free hot cocoa. Dress warmly for the outdoor portion and bring binoculars. People who need can borrow binoculars from the refuge.

There is a $2 suggested donation, or $5 per family.
