Ring in 2018 with New Year’s Eve events around Orange County

Whether you’re looking to ring in the New Year with a romantic evening, a night out with friends, or a celebration the whole family can enjoy, look no further than Orange County. Offering a variety of restaurants, breweries and indoor activity centers, there’s no shortage of New Year’s Eve celebrations in the Hudson Valley.

Some New Year’s Eve celebrations on Sunday, Dec. 31, include:

GoshenIlluminate Goshen New Year's Eve Ball Drop, Harriman Square, Village of Goshen. From 7 to 9 p.m. is a family-friendly party on the stage and in heated tents, with arts and crafts, a magic show, face painting, balloon animals, science experiments, music, and other fun activities. At 9 p.m. is an "Early to Bed" ball rise so families can "count down" and still be home in time for bed. From 9 p.m. to midnight there will be live music from the Hype and DJ Rich, food vendors on site, and a "selfie scavenger hunt" (participants will be given a list of places/people/things they must find and take a selfie with).

ChesterFamily New Year’s Eve Party, The Castle Fun Center, 109 Brookside Ave., Chester, 6-9 p.m. Includes two dinner buffets, an arcade cart, a rock climbing wall, a laser maze, go karts, roller skating, dancing and “midnight” countdown at 8:50 p.m. with a ball drop and confetti canon celebration. WarwickNew Year’s Eve Dinner, Iron Forge Inn, 38 Iron Forge Road, Warwick, 5-9 p.m.. Choose from a three- or five-course dinner menu to celebrate the New Year with family and friends. Web: ironforgeinn.com.

New HamptonNew Year's at the Orchard Hill Cider Mill, Soons Orchards, 29 Soons Circle, New Hampton. Live music and dancing to vocalist Ellen Kaye with Ethan Fein and the LiveIt!LIVE Band. Mixologist and vocalist Donnan Sutherland will join the entertainment. The event includes an array of appetizers and five courses throughout the evening. Admission price includes food, and full bar with Orchard Hill's draft ciders, select New York State wines and spirits, beers, and cocktails and a toast with Orchard Hill's Gold Label Sparkling Cider. MiddletownVilla Venezia’s Black Tie Casino Night, Villa Venezia, 2257 Goshen Turnpike, Middletown, 8 p.m.-1 a.m. Includes four-course dinner and open bar, classic casino games, music, and dancing.
