— The Artful Bears have returned to Milford, resplendent in the rain, which didn't stop admirers from showing up in force on Saturday.
Many local residents and tourists came to see the debut of these delightful works of art, and to meet the artists who created them. Jerry Weinstock, a member of the Black Bear Film Festival board of directors, helped connect artists with admirers. The Artful Bears both enliven Milford and promote the film festival, held every October. Weinstock commented on the beauty of the bears and the wealth of films that the festival brings to Pike County.
Bob Keiber, Black Bear executive director, offered delicious treats at the bears' debut.
Young artist Zoey Marquis and her mother, Michelle, were delighted to meet the people who came out — especially the many admirers enchanted by Zoey's "Baby Bear."
Bids on the bears will be taken during a silent auction under the tent behind Hotel Fauchere during the festival weekend, Oct. 19 to 21. For festival information visit blackbearfilm.com.
