DDMS students learn to 'begin with the end in mind'

    — Each of us has the ability to map out the life we want to live. But first, we must develop a clear picture of where we want to go.
Students at Dingman-Delaware Middle School spent some time this year reflecting on what it means to “Begin with the end in mind." Teachers discussed with students personal, academic, and social goals while also helping them realize they have the ability to map out directions on how to achieve them.
Students in Mr. Batista’s eighth-grade homeroom created personal mission statements that included goals, quotes, song lyrics — and anything else that inspires students to achieve what they want in life.
Students then taped their personal mission statements in their lockers. Every day that they come to school, the students remind themselves of what type of person they want to be and where they want to go.
