, N.Y. — The Delaware Valley Arts Alliance has a brand-new look for its storefront gift shop.

Signature Gifts, at 37 Main St. in Narrowsburg, N.Y., spotlights and supports local artists, artisans, and craftspeople, who stock the store with functional works of art.

With its updated aesthetic and new offerings, Signature Gifts, which first opened in 2005, features a frequently rotating selection of offerings and special events, including “Meet the Maker” receptions. The new shop carries many treasures by New York and Pennsylvania creators, including:

Jewelry by Jane Roth of Cochecton, N.Y.

Wool products by Buck Brook Alpacas of Roscoe, N.Y.

Woodworking by Ted Waddell of Kenoza Lake, N.Y.

Silk scarves by Jane Blake of Callicoon, N.Y.

Hand-printed tee-shirts and totes by Lucky Fish of Brooklyn, N.Y.

Ceramics by Bryan Cronk of Livingston Manor, N.Y.

Jewelry by Judi Aronson of Lake Huntington, N.Y.

'Magical makers everywhere'The makeover was the vision of Pam Mayer, an arts alliance board member. She worked closely with her architect-husband, Karl Wasner, who designed and built the store’s modern, modular shelving system.

“Being part of this artistic community you get a sense that there are magical makers and creators everywhere, locally and regionally," Mayer said. "I wanted there to be a beautifully curated space to present these amazing artisans. I believe with everyone's generous help we've accomplished that. I look forward to discovering new talent and changing around the shop on a seasonal basis."

DVAA Executive Director Ariel Shanberg pointed to the "exciting revitalization of artisanal practice and growing appreciation for craft that originates from our region. DVAA’s gift shop is well-poised to be the premiere place to discover the remarkable talents that live and work in our midst.”

Signature Gifts is open during regular gallery hours, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.
