Workshop for new beekeepers this Saturday

— A free workshop will offer those interested in beekeeping information about starting and managing a hive, ordering bees, difficulties to expect, and extraction of honey.

The Wayne County Beekeepers Association will present the workshop from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10, at the Penn State Extension, 648 Park St., Suite E, Honesdale.

This year’s guest speaker will be Orna Clum from Scotts Township, Pa. Clum is a member of both the Lackawanna Beekeepers Association as well as the Wayne County Beekeepers Association and is an experienced beekeeper.

There will be time for open discussions on problem solving and activities for youth. Also available at this workshop will be the opportunity to purchase bulk orders of bees and recommendations for ordering equipment.
