By DVE-News/TV Reporters

— On May 9, DVE-News/TV reporters went on location to the Special Olympics at the Delaware Valley High School.

We watched the opening ceremony from the top of the grandstand balcony. It was a beautiful, sunny day and very warm.

We enjoyed seeing the torch lit. We watched the first one-mile race.

Then we went to see the weight lifters. We interviewed athletes, volunteers and helpers.

Then off we went to watch the swimmers. We got to interview athlete Dominque Dunn, and volunteer Chloe Gawel.

We headed back to the track and field events. We interviewed many people on the field, including School Officer Gaughan, athletes, administrators, many staff members, and volunteers.

We loved watching the athletes do their best. It was great to see our fellow students compete. The cheering and applause really inspired the athletes to do their best and not give up.

We also loved seeing previous DVE-News/TV reporters and hearing about their memories of DVE-News/TV, our props and being a reporter.

We hope all the competitors and volunteers had a great time. We will never forget going to see the Special Olympics in person!

We hope one day to be able to go and be one of the helpers or volunteers when we are in high school!

By DVE-News/TV reporters Lauren Ford, Brendan Galimi, Cole Weston, Rhayna Simpson, and Natalie Potenzone.
