American Legion Post 254, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 531, and local residents observed Patriots Day at the 9/11 memorial in Honesdale. The ceremony included prayers, a brief history, and the playing of Taps. The ceremony is held at 6 p.m. so that it may be attended by Honesdale citizens who cannot make observances earlier in the day. The Legion Post 254 meets at the Chamber of Commerce building, at 7 p.m., on the fourth Tuesday of each month. Any veteran interested in joining should contact Commander Bruck at 570-881-0592.
