STROUDSBURG — Authorities have released the names of three people killed in a three-vehicle crash in Stroud Township.
Authorities in Monroe County said Sept. 18 that two southbound cars went out of control at about 9:30 p.m. Sunday along Route 209. One collided head-on with a sport utility vehicle, causing both vehicles to go up in flames.
Coroner Thomas Yanac said 20-year-old car driver Matthew Haller of Wind Gap was killed along with 68-year-old SUV driver Ronald Bogart and his 74-year-old brother, Chester Bogart, both of East Stroudsburg.
Officials said the other car hit a guardrail, seriously injuring the driver.
State transportation officials have announced plans to remove a traffic light and ban left-hand turns at the four-way intersection, the scene of past severe crashes.
