Marion Margot Schoenfeld of Milford, Pa., formerly of Glen Spey, N.Y., and Cocoa Beach, Fla., passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2018, at Belle Reve Senior Living Center, Milford. She was 90.

Daughter of Johann and Margarita Sander Roth, she was born on Jan. 10, 1928, in Halle-Saale, Germany.

Marion was married to Hans Lothar Schoenfeld for 50 years before he passed away in 2004.

Marion, together with her late husband, opened Lothar’s Body Shop in Middletown, N.Y., in 1962. She was a longtime member of the Black Forest Colony in Glen Spey and the German-American Club in Middletown.

Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Jutta Bishop of Equinunk, Pa., and Christine Trifari and her husband, John, of Glen Spey; sister, Hannelore Dick of Dusseldorf, Germany; beloved granddaughters, Marlena Harmon and her husband, Barry, of Berwyn, Ill., and Alexa Bishop of Media, Pa.; great-granddaughter, Winona Harmon; nieces and nephews; and many lifelong friends.

Marion’s beloved longtime companion, a West Highland Terrier, Lumpy, misses her, too.

Marion was pre-deceased by her son-in-law Christopher Bishop and her sister Irmgard Pornhagen.

She loved spending holidays with her family, working with her flower gardens, having fun on distant vacations, cooking and baking German specialties, having pool parties or parties of any kind.

Marion’s family wishes to thank the entire staff at Belle Reve Living Center for being her home away from home and taking such loving care of her over the past few years. As per her wishes, cremation was private and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

Because Marion loved her little dog Lumpy and all animals so much, contributions in Marion’s memory may be made to a donor's local animal shelter or animal rescue.

Arrangements are by the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, Port Jervis, N.Y.
