Lawrence McAllister of Matamoras, Pa., dies at age 65

Lawrence McAllister of Matamoras, Pa., passed away Saturday, October 6, 2018 at home. He was 65.

Son of Bernard V. and Anne T. (Winiarski) McAllister, he was born October 25, 1952, in Jamaica, N.Y.

He worked for Erie Lackawanna Railroad and Conrail as a car inspector, and Earth Haulers and Waltech Engineering as a laborer. Some of the happiest times of his life were spent in Yankee Lake, N.Y., where he was surrounded by family, friends, laughter and love.

Lawrence leaves behind his son ,Brian V. McAllister, and his wife, Desiree, of Milford, Pa.; daughter, Catherine M. McAllister of Matamoras; mother, Anne T. McAllister of Flushing, N.Y.; granddaughters, Margaret (Maggie) McAllister, Zoe Fetherman; sisters, Susan Andreasin and her husband, André, of Malibu, Calif., Patti Mau and her husband, Dick, of Redwood City, Calif., Mary McCarthy of Bronx, N.Y., Catherine Parker of Queens, N.Y.; many nieces and nephews; and good friends Gerri and Bill Morgan of Milford.

Family will receive friends at Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 West Harford St., Milford, on Thursday, Oct. 11, from 2 to 4 p.m. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Patrick McCarthy officiating.
