Lawrence ('Larry') Weeden Jr. of Middletown, N.Y., dies at age 44

Lawrence (“Larry”) Weeden Jr. of Middletown, N.Y., passed away on Monday, Dec. 17, 2018, in Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown. He was 44.

Son of the late Lawrence Weeden and Barbara Thorp Ates, he was born on Nov. 22, 1974, in Middletown.

Everyone called him “Officer” Weeden. He was an honorary member of the Sparrowbush Fire Department. He was involved in the Special Olympics and earned many medals. He was an avid fan of the Mets and Jets.

Survivors include his mother, Barbara Ates of Sparrowbush, N.Y.; sisters, Melissa Norman of Milford, Pa., and Jessica Bedford and her husband, Richard, of Sparrowbush, N.Y.; paternal grandfather, William Weeden of Tennessee; nephews, Richard, Gavin, and Riley; nieces, Courtney, Kandyce, and Jada; aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Dec. 21, from 3 to 7 p.m. with a Funeral Service on Saturday Dec. 22, at 10 a.m., all at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, 72 West Main St., Middletown.

Burial will be in Wallkill Cemetery, Town of Wallkill, N.Y.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
