— Ryan Scott and Joe Fischer found a craft brewing home in Milford.

And craft beer enthusiasts have also found their home at the Log Tavern Brewery, where they gather for flights and growlers.

Scott brought to the business his zeal for home brewing, while Fischer contributed his business acumen.

They bought the pole barn that became their brewery from Milford Mayor Sean Strub. The brewery's slate chalkboards are from the original Historic Milford School house.

Architect Richard Pedranti designed the Log Tavern Brewery as a rustic-yet-modern space. Scott and Fischer built the high-top tables from abandoned wooden wire spools and trunks. They hand-welded the bar stools and used wooden shipping pallets to panel the bar wall. They found their refrigeration room, now their cold-brew room, on e-Bay.

All of the customers gathered recently at the newly opened brewery say the combination of a congenial crowd and the owners' excellent brews make it a hot spot for meeting friends and sharing laughter.
