— Beginning Sunday afternoons in January, the Delaware Valley Choral Society will be in rehearsal preparing for a June concert featuring Karl Jenkins' The Peacemakers.

All singers are invited to join their voices in Jenkins’ work, which features texts from Gandhi, Martin Luther King, the Dalai Lama, Nelson Mandela, Anne Frank, and Mother Teresa set to inspiring music. Also included in the program will be Beethoven’s cantata "Meeresstille und glückliche Fahrt" ("Calm Sea and Prosperous Voyage"). Accompanying the singers will be a full symphony orchestra.

Rehearsals will take place on Sundays starting at 2 p.m. at the Milford United Methodist Church, 206 East Ann St., Milford. Music and rehearsal CDs will be provided at a singer's first rehearsal.

The Delaware Valley Choral Society is a non-profit group dedicated to performing major choral works in their original form. The society incorporates aspiring musicians from the area as well as professional musicians to bring major works of music to the community.

Jeffrey Fornoff is the director of the executive board; Debra Reuss, president; Lorna Cuevas, secretary; Barbara Carter, member-at-large; Ted Richter, vice-president; Gerald Najarian, treasurer; Jim Mould, member-at-large.
