MATAMORAS — Students at Delaware Valley Elementary School held a hallway decorating contest, in which they choose different countries from around the world and showed how they celebrate the holidays.
The classes were given different areas of the main hallway to decorate. They were then judged, pre-K through second grade, and third through fifth grade.
The upper level (grades 3 to 5) winner was Sweden, from Mrs. Genovese’s fourth-grade class. They received a pizza party.
The winner from the lower level (pre-K through grade 2) was Germany, from Mrs. Connell’s second-grade class. They received stockings with treats.
