MILFORD — Phyllis Petrillo, an agent at New York Life in Scranton, spoke to teachers, administrators, and staff at Delaware Valley School District’s Administration Building on Jan. 8, about the Grief-Sensitive Schools Initiative.
In this program, New York Life’s agents and employees visit school districts to introduce their bereavement resources, specifically their new dedicated resource for schools, GrievingStudents.org
GrievingStudents.org was created by the Coalition to Support Grieving Students, of which the NYL Foundation is a leading founding member. Some of the training modules that can be found on the website include Talking With Children, What Not To Say, Connecting With Families, and Impact On Learning.
