Patricia Anne De Rosa of Lords Valley, Pa., dies at age 72

Patricia Anne De Rosa of Lords Valley, Pa., passed away at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale, Pa., on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2019. She was 72.

Patricia attended New York City’s Assisium Catholic Secretarial High School under the Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart and graduated with high academic achievement at age 15. She had a lifelong devotion to St. Francis and shared his love of all animals, especially dogs and cats, but deer, and bears, too.

She worked downtown in Manhattan as a secretary until making her married family life and rearing of her son, Michael, and daughter, April, job number one after marrying in 1970. Mrs. De Rosa has been a member of the Women’s Club of Hemlock Farms.

Daughter of the late Walter Joseph and Ruth Alicia (Pion) Ross, Patricia was born on July 10, 1946, in Bronx, N.Y., where she attended St. Joseph’s Catholic Elementary School, same school Dad attended as a boy. She and her husband, Marine Ralph DeRosa (Semper Fi) married in 1970, now just months short of 49 years.

Patricia leaves behind her husband, Ralph De Rosa; son, Michael De Rosa and wife, Shelley; daughter, April De Rosa Norena and husband, Phil; granddaughter, Gianna; brother, Dr. Michael Ross and his wife, Katheryn Ann; sister, Donna Marie Kraus; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 West Harford St., Milford, Pa., on Thursday, Jan. 31, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John Neumann Church, 705 Route 739, Lords Valley, on Friday, Feb. 1, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Edward Casey officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to the Dessin Animal Shelter, 138 Miller Drive, Honesdale, PA 18431.
