The Associated Press reports today that President Trump has announced a short-term deal to reopen the federal government for three weeks, ending the longest government shutdown in U.S. history.
AP tweeted that, according to Congressional sources, "the deal would fund agencies for three weeks and does not immediately boost money for Trump’s long-sought wall at the U.S.-Mexico border."
In a livestream today, President Trump said "In a short while, I will sign a bill to open our Government for three weeks until February 15th. I will make sure that all employees receive their back pay very quickly."
AP followed up with another tweet today stating, "Trump renews call for border wall, threatens another govt shutdown or emergency action if he does not get 'fair deal.'"
