Pike's Peek

Editor's note: Our apologies for the late posting of last week's Peek answers and clues.

Readers really turned in their homework when identifying the detail.

Doug and Babette Dow write: "The mystery photo this week is the historic stone building located at 500 Broad Street. The Old Stone Court House was built 1814-1815 and most recently served as the Sheriff's Department. Over the decades, this building has served as the First Presbyterian Church, The Methodist Church, The Episcopal Church, along with its function as the local jail. Some who worked in the building claim it's haunted."

Elanine Stinardo writes in, correctly, also with background, that it's the "window box at the old Pike County Jail where Mr. & Mrs. Bob Kurtz were caretakers (many years ago)."

The ever-knowledgeable Pike County Commissioner Matt Osterberg writes that the detail is at the "Milford Boro office on the corner of West High and Broad Streets. Constructed in 1814 as the first Pike County Courthouse, served in this capacity until 1873. From 1873 until 1990's, this was the Pike County Jail. In the mid-nineties, the Pike County Sheriff had their office in this building. In February of 2019, the Milford Boro office and Police Station moved to this location."

Bob and Judy Brumbaugh also nailed the answer.

A+ everyone!
