The Hotel Fauchère will hosting its first-ever Oyster Fest from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 5, in the Fauchère Garden, 401 Broad St., Milford.
The main attraction is from Island Creek Oysters of Duxbury, Mass. Four varieties of oysters will be included:
    Island Creek, Duxbury, Mass.
    Moon Shoal, Barnstable, Mass.
    Mookie Blue, Maine
    Wellfleet, Wellfleet, Mass.
White sturgeon caviar from Sterling Farms will be served as a topper to the oysters and grilled hot dogs — or stuffed into a caviar slider. Specialty toppings for the hot dogs include kimchee, Sabrette sauce, and caviar.
Oysters are priced individually at around $3 to 3.50 each, or 6 for $18. The specialty dogs are $4 each.
The Fauchère will also have beer, wine, and a variety of soft drinks available for purchase.
"Island Creek has long been a leader in sustainability in oyster farming and we're proud to partner with them," says organizer Megan Strub. "The folks from Island Creek are bringing their boat filled with ice and oysters! They'll be here to shuck oysters and talk about the different varieties."
The Fauchère and Bar Louis are one of the few places in the region that serves fresh oysters every day. They've been building a following with regular Oyster Mondays in Bar Louis.
Fauchère Oyster Fest is free to attend but if guests RSVP on Eventbrite by Aug. 1 (https://bit.ly/2LBWNqJ) they'll get their first oyster free.
