Culture and heritage grants available through the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance

Nonprofit arts and community groups are encouraged to apply for the 2020 Sullivan County Arts & Heritage Grants program, administered through the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance in Narrowsburg, N.Y.

The grants assist artists and nonprofit organizations to present or produce cultural programming in Sullivan County. All projects must be completed by the end of the year. The application deadline is Sunday, March 1, at midnight.

The grants are funded by the Sullivan County legislature and support projects that focus on visual, performing, literary, media and folk arts; culture; architecture; regional history; and environmental arts. Groups that apply include literary groups, libraries, theaters, music groups, historical societies, museums, community development groups, environmental groups, and the like. The minimum grant request is $300, and the maximum request is $1,500.

Attendance at a free grant writing seminar is encouraged for new and returning applicants (see schedule). The seminar will cover conceptualizing a project, grant writing tips and tools, and contractual obligations for grantees.

Artists and groups may also schedule an in-person meeting to at DVAA offices in Narrowsburg. Applications, guidelines, and grant information workshop schedule and registration are available at delawarevalleyartsalliance.org (see “Grants”).
