Irene F. Gannon (Renie) of Milford, Pa., passed away April 28, 2021, surrounded by loved ones at Karen Ann Quinlan Home for Hospice in Fredon Township, N.J. She was 77.

She was born Jan. 31, 1944. Renie was a strong, independent, intelligent, self-sufficient, and selfless woman with a heart of gold.

She could take the worst day and turn it into the best day. She was a very positive influence on all her family and friends and always found a way to be optimistic no matter what challenges she faced. To call her a warrior would be an understatement; she really was super woman, the woman with an answer or solution to any problem possible. Such a kind and beautiful soul, Renie fought until the very end. She loved spontaneous adventures and being prepared for absolutely anything. She loved to be outdoors, especially sitting in the sun and hearing the waves of the ocean crash around her. She also loved camping and going to the lake. Renie was a personal in-home caregiver for the majority of her life, and later on, even when she needed a caregiver herself, she still continued to take care of all her loved ones and worry about their needs before her own.

Renie was predeceased by her daughter, April Lynn Gannon; her mother and father, Eva and Warren Gould; and her niece, Ginny Burt.

She is survived by her beloved brother, Lee Conklin of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; brothers, Bucky Gould of Tarpon Springs and Gordon Benson of Crystal River, Fla.; nephew, Jeff Grubb; nieces, Kathy Davis and husband, Butch Davis, Belinda Benson, and Tammy Rath; great-nieces, Katie April Pfeifer and Jenny Hurst; great-nephew, Bailey Davis; and great-great niece and nephew, Emma June May and Ashton Sharpe. She is also survived by her friends that were also like family to her, Kimberly Shauger, Nadia Attoun, and many other beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.

Celebration of Life services and cremation will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, Newton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Karen Ann Quinlan Home for Hospice, 99 Sparta Ave., Newton, N.J. 07860.
