Thelma D. McCarty of Milford, Pa., passed away on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2019, at St. Joseph’s Place, Port Jervis, N.Y. She was 93.
Daughter of the late Audrey and Katherine (Hipsman) Devereaux, she was born on July 30, 1926, in Shohola, Pa. She was married to Philip McCarty who preceded her in death on Dec. 30, 2016.
She was a member of St. Jacobi Lutheran Church, Shohola.
Thelma will be remembered for her love of art, quilting, and gardening.
She is survived by her children, Robert Paul McCarty of Orleans, Mass., and Diane Brink of Milford, Pa.; four grandsons; five great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews, with a special fondness for Katherine Devereaux Trapp and Lois Devereaux, both of Shohola.
Visitation was held at the Stroyan Funeral Home in Milford on Sept. 17. Funeral services followed at the funeral home with the Reverend Niels Nielsen officiating. Burial followed at Milford Cemetery, Dingman Township, Pa.
