Dispositions in Pike County Court

Milford. Pike County District Attorney Raymond J. Tonkin announced the criminal sentences issued the week of Aug. 9 by Pike County Court of Common Pleas President Judge Gregory Chelak.

April Lynn Moyer, 25, of Greentown, Pa., was sentenced to 18 months of probation and fined $200 for 2 counts of the crime of Theft. Moyer took currency totaling $200 while an employee at a business in Greene Township on Aug. 1, 2019 and Sept. 6, 2019, which she did not have permission to take. On Dec. 23, 2019, Moyer and another individual cut down trees and removed wood from a property in Greene Township without the permission of the property owner. The value of the trees was determined to be $1,000.

Bryan A. Perez, 31, of Lake Ariel, Pa., was sentenced to a fine of $452.50 for the crime of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and the Summary Offense of Maximum Speed Limit. The state police pulled Perez over on Jan. 8, 2021, for doing 75 miles per hour along I-84 in Dingman Township. A consent to search the vehicle revealed a glass smoking device and a grinder.

Derek Lee Thompson, 39, of Hawley, Pa., was sentenced to 12 months of probation and a fine of $500 for the crime of Criminal Use of a Communication Facility. Thompson used a cellular phone to facilitate the sale of a controlled substance on December 14, 2018, at a bridge located in Lackawaxen Township.

Victoria Lynn Wilklow, 25, of Milford, Pa., was sentenced to 6 months of the Pike Care Program, which will include 30 days of house arrest, a fine of $1,000, and driver’s license suspension of 12 months for the crime of Driving Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance. The state police came upon Wilklow parked along I-84 in Palmyra Township on Nov. 29, 2020, with her vehicle hazard lights on. The trooper detected the smell of marijuana while speaking with Wilklow. Wilklow admitted smoking marijuana earlier and was observed to have dilated pupils and glossy eyes. Field sobriety tests indicated impairment, and a blood test confirmed the presence of benzoylecgonine and THC in her blood.

Jonathan Thomas Herbert, 26, of Hawley, Pa., was sentenced to 20 days to 12 months in the Pike County Jail and a fine of $500 for the crime of Theft. On Nov. 27, 2016, Herbert took merchandise valued at $116 from a retail store in Westfall Township without paying for it and returned it to customer service for a cash refund.

Courtney Marette Wilson, 28, of Greentown, Pa., was sentenced to 2 years of probation and a fine of $500 for the crime of Endangering the Welfare of Children. The state police were dispatched to SR 507 in Greene Township where a three-year old child was found in the roadway. Wilson was found to be the mother of the child and who had taken insufficient actions to protect the child.

Tari Timothy Eason, 39, of Sunnyside, N.Y., was sentenced to 16 days to 32 days in the Pike County Jail and fined $500 for the crime of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Eason was the passenger in a vehicle stopped by the state police on Feb. 29, 2020, for traveling well below the posted speed limit along I-84 in Blooming Grove Township. When the trooper approached the vehicle, he detected the smell of marijuana. A probable cause search revealed that Eason was in possession of plastic baggies for the storage of marijuana and rolling papers.

Richard James Mammana, 41, of East Stroudsburg, Pa., was sentenced to 72 hours to 6 months in the Pike County Jail, fined $1,000, and had his driver’s license suspended for 12 months for the crime of Driving Under the Influence. The state police encountered Mammana traveling along SR 402 in Blooming Grove Township on June 12, 2020, at a very slow rate of speed. Mammana was observed to have trouble standing and exhibited bloodshot, watery eyes, slurred speech, and emanating the smell of an alcoholic beverage. Field sobriety tests indicated impairment. Mammana refused to submit to a breath test.

Christopher Peter Spinucci, 55, of Wilkes-Barre, Pa., was sentenced to 6 months to 12 months in the Pike County Jail, fined $500, and had his driver’s license suspended for 12 months for the crime of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Driving While Operating Privilege is Suspended or Revoked. The state police stopped Spinucci on June 15, 2020, at the I-84 and SR 507 ramp in Greene Township for driving on a suspended license. A consent to search the vehicle revealed Spinucci in possession of methamphetamine.

Stacy Lee Meigs, 48, of Wilkes-Barre, Pa., was sentenced to 6 months of probation without verdict and fined $300 for the crime of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Meigs was a passenger in a vehicle stopped on June 15, 2020, along the exit ramp of I-84 and SR 507 in Greene Township. A consent to search the vehicle authorized by the driver revealed Meigs in possession of a glass pipe used in connection with the ingestion of illegal substances.

Edgar Rivera, 42, of Milford, Pa., was sentenced to a fine of $300 for the crime of Harassment. On Oct. 9, 2020, at a business in Milford Township, Rivera attempted to or threatened physical contact to an individual with the intention to annoy or alarm the individual.

Angel Cabrera, 22, of Bushkill, Pa., was sentenced to 18 months of probation and fined $800 for the crimes of Resisting Arrest and Possession of a Controlled Substance. The state police were called to a residence in Lehman Township on June 6, 2020, where Cabrera was reported to be under the influence of drugs and out of control. Cabrera ignored the trooper’s request to cease and desist, causing substantial force to be used to subdue him. Cabrera was found in possession of fentanyl.
