First 100 at Pike’s back-to-school event will get free supplies

Milford. The Pike County Office of Children and Youth Services will be holding a back-to-school event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 5, at Ann Street Park in Milford.

The first 100 attendees will receive a free backpack filled with school supplies to prepare for the upcoming school year. Additional donations of backpacks and other school supplies are welcomed.

This event was made possible by numerous community providers, including the Carbon Monroe Pike Drug & Alcohol Commission, Carbon Monroe Pike Mental Health, Ecumenical Food Pantry, Justice Works, Milford United Methodist Church, SAM Inc., TriVersity, Victims Intervention Program, Delaware Valley School District, East Stroudsburg School District North, and Wallenpaupack School District. Representative Michael Peifer and the Pike County Commissioners also contributed funding to this event.
