The Greater Pike Community Foundation has announced the availability of grants from the Barbara J. Buchanan Fund for eligible nonprofits beginning Feb. 1.

“Because of Barbara Buchanan’s generosity, we will be awarding three $1,000 grants,” said Greater Pike’s Grants Committee chair, Maryann Monte. “The opening of this grant cycle underscores the legacy of commitment Barbara had to her community and to the causes she held dear.”

The deadline for applying is Sunday, Feb. 14, at 5 p.m. This annual program funds eligible local non-profit community organizations in the arts and culture, basic human needs, health, families, education, and the environment with innovative ideas for improving the community’s quality of life.

Since Greater Pike opens various grant opportunities during the year, it is important to indicate on the application that it is for a grant from the Barbara J. Buchanan Fund. The application can be downloaded online at greaterpike.org/grants. Any prior Greater Pike grant recipient applying must be up to date in all grant reporting requirements from previous grant cycles by the deadline or their application will not be considered.
