Marching Warriors strut to the top

Milford. This year, live competitions are back. The Marching Warriors started their season off strong, placing second overall and winning the award for best percussion.

The Delaware Valley Marching Band has had a unique year since the pandemic has been a factor.

Last year, the marching band competed in the U.S. Bands Virtual Competition. The band recorded their performances and sent in videos biweekly to compete with bands from all over the country. The Marching Warriors placed ninth in the nation with a score of 85.76.

This year, live competitions are back, and the Marching Warriors started their season off strong, placing second overall and winning the award for best percussion.

Drum Major Annabella Potenza also won the award for best drum major.

The DV Marching Band will be continuing its season at the Western Wayne Cavalcade as well as the U.S. Bands National Finals in Allentown, Pa., on Nov. 6..

“The Marching Warriors have done a fantastic job so far this year,” said band director Rick Bullock. “The students are working so hard and are extremely determined to bring our 2021 show to the next level.”
