MATAMORAS — A new new radio-controlled (RC) race car track opened on Independence Day in Matamoras' Airport Park.

Serious hobbyists as well as newbies came from New York and PA to try out the new 100' X 100' dirt track.

Well handled vehicles were exciting to watch as they kicked up dirt and flew around the track, controlled by some amazing drivers. "This is a great addition to the park and we hope to put Matamoras back on the map as a great family fun destination." said a jubilant Chris Graham, who along with his partner John Fernandez and the Matamoras Recreation Deptartment, made this dream come true.

The park is a safe environment for kids of all ages, with strict rules and zero tolerance for bad behavior such as bad language and bullying. It is also a smoke free park.

Construction of the park was made possible by the donated time and equipment from Tom Greiner Excavation of Milford, and May Brothers Landscaping of Shohola. "Without their volunteer work, this wouldn't have happened," said Graham.
