Join the Pike County Public Library in celebrating veterans on Saturday, Nov. 9, at 10:30 a.m. at the Milford branch of the library, 119 East Harford Street. Local author Gayle Krause will read from her latest book, “Daddy, Can You See the Moon?,” a story about a family with a deployed father. After storytime, children are invited to make a card to send to a deployed soldier. The library will also collect items for care packages, such as non-perishable single-serve food items, small toiletries, and playing cards or Sudoku books. You can still donate to the cause if you do not plan on attending the children’s program. Drop items off at either branch of the library before Nov. 8.
