Editor's note: Fred Weber submitted the following announcement and thank you, along with before-and-after photos:

I wanted to thank the National Parks Service, volunteers from the Lions Club and other local volunteers who came together in a joint effort to restore the beautiful view from Milford Knob.

The Knob has always been an attraction to local and out of town hikers, since it offers a spectacular view of the Borough, the Delaware River and the fields across on the New Jersey side. Over the years the view had become obstructed by shrubs, saplings and trees.

This is a great example of cooperation between multiple groups with a common purpose: getting the job done expeditiously and restoring the Milford Knob view for all to enjoy.

This attraction brings significant yearly revenue from hikers taking advantage of our NPS trail system and the amenities offered by Milford Borough.

Thanks to everyone involved.

How to get there:
Hike to the view from the Milford Knob Trailhead on Route 209 in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area (1.4 miles) or from the Hackers Trailhead on Raymondskill Road (2.7 miles). See nps.gov/dewa/planyourvisit/cliff-trail.htm for a trail map.
