Milford. Third-graders Delaware Valley Elementary School received a very important vocabulary lesson from Miss Paz and Mrs. Snure, where they learned all about “How people make our government work.” Even though the students are too young to vote, it’s important for educators to teach our future leaders how to make their voices heard. The students practiced campaigning for “Class President” by giving individual speeches. The class then voted for their candidate of choice and ballots were counted to determine the Class President. he best way to teach vocabulary is to help students develop word consciousness, an awareness and interest in the words they’re learning.
