Vietnam veterans to host Pearl Harbor remembrance

Milford. All are invited to Soldier & Sailors Monument to honor those lost during the December 7, 1941, attacks.

The Vietnam Veterans of America Tri-State Chapter 623 will hold its annual Pearl Harbor remembrance ceremony on Monday, Dec. 7, at Pike County Soldier & Sailors Monument, Kiehl Park, located at Broad and High Streets in Milford.

All are invited to honor those lost during the December 7, 1941, attacks on Pearl Harbor.

The assembly time is 10:30 a.m. The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m.

John Kupillas, acting president and chaplain of VVA Tri-State Chapter 623, will lead the opening prayer and moment of silence to POW/MIAs who have not returned. Following will be the Pledge of Allegiance and placement of wreath.

The keynote address will be delivered by Gregory Protsko, Commander of VFW Mountain Laurel Post No. 8612.

The Sounding of Taps and Salute to Colors will be performed by the Bugler, USMC Detachment 909.

The closing prayer will be offered by Chaplain Kupillas.

A wreath will be tossed in the river in memory of all who lost their lives during the Pearl Harbor attacks. All are invited to join this brief ceremony at Milford Beach immediately following the ceremony at Soldier & Sailors Monument.
