Bushkill man is arrested for assaulting woman

Stephen Fisher, 26, of Bushkill was arrested on June 23 for assault with a weapon, according to the Pennsylvania State Police at Blooming Grove.
At 2:30 p.m. that day, police responded to 679 Whippoorwill Drive in Lehman Township after receiving a report of a woman screaming for help. During the course of the domestic incident, Fisher threw a chair at the victim, struck her with a chair numerous times, struck her in the head with a closed fist, and held her to the ground, according to the police report.
The 26-year-old victim, who is from Bushkill, suffered a contusion to her left arm, bruising to the back and side of her neck, bruising to her right knee and leg, and head pain due to her hair being pulled by Fisher, according to the police.
Fisher was arraigned and is being held at the Pike County prison on $20,000 bail.
The investigating officer is Trooper Casey Lewis.
