The Pennsylvania State Police at Blooming Grove have charged James Allen Stalter, 33, of Honesdale with fleeing and eluding. The police attempted a traffic stop at 10:23 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 11, on State Route 507 in Palmyra Township because the driving privileges of the 2006 Honda Accord Stalter was driving had been suspended. Troopers activated their lights and sirens, instructing Stalter to stop, but he kept going, driving several miles before pulling into the Lighthouse Harbor Marina and leaving his car, according to the police report. Stalter was taken into custody and transported to the police barracks at Blooming Grove, where he told police he did not stop to avoid having his car towed.
