Newfoundland man placed in custody for DUI

Edward Foy, 55, of Newfoundland was arrested on Thursday, Sept. 12, on Route 507 in Greene Township for driving under the influence, according to the Pennsylvania State Police at Blooming Grove.The police initiated a traffic stop at 10:18 a.m. on a 1999 Subaru Outback after police discovered the car was displaying a Pennsylvania registration belonging to a 1964 Chevrolet pickup. After initiating contact with Foy, police determined that his driving privileges had been suspended for a previous DUI. In addition, the car he was driving also displayed a Pennsylvania inspection sticker that did not belong to the car, according to police. Foy later told police that he had stolen the inspection sticker from an unknown junkyard in the area.Foy displayed signs of impairment throughout the investigation, according to police. He was subsequently placed into custody, with charges filed through Magistrate 60-3-02.
